Once your label is setup perfectly you may import another spreadsheet and all of a sudden your labels won't update. What's up with that?

The answer is usually simple: the spreadsheet columns don't have the same name. Look at what variable names are used on your label design? Do they match with what's in the spreadsheet? Is the spreadsheet missing any columns that were in the original?

Like the old saying goes: trust, but verify!

Why is my label data not updating?

Searching and filtering Data Rows in Label LIVE is incredibly powerful. From the Data tab, click the row selector.

Notice how the text cursor appears. You can search your data by typing.

You can use the arrow keys to move down and up.

That's right. Pressing enter twice will select and print one copy of the label.

Where can I search for a specific Data Row?

Label LIVE makes it easy to import spreadsheet and CSV data. Sometimes your data doesn't load as you might expect. Here's a quick checklist to double-check to make sure your data imports perfectly every time.

Imported columns are turned into "variables" and have a few limitations.

Why is my spreadsheet column not working?

Check your spreadsheet or CSV. The first row needs to be the name of each column.

Once saved, reload the imported data and check for updated variables. You should be able to select each row in your imported file. Now you can add variables to your design.

Why does it only print the first row of imported data?

This can happen when Label LIVE can't automatically import the data or header rows from your file.

And don't forget to add a header row, otherwise your data might not change as you expect.

What does "Oops, there are no rows to load" mean?

Microsoft Excel allows you to setup spreadsheets in more than one sheet or workbook. By default, Label LIVE imports the data from the first (leftmost) workbook.

To change, click on the sheet name to select a different sheet.

How do I import from a different Excel workbook?

It's frustrating when you think you almost got this design working, but then your data isn't changing. 

Ugh! Fear not, there's likely an easy answer.

The long story short is: you forgot a header row.
