How do I enable Toshiba ZPL support?

Follow these instructions to enable z-mode (ZPL) support for the Toshiba B-EX6T1.

Label LIVE on macOS only supports the Toshiba B-EX6T1 with Z-mode support. If you use this guide for another model please email us and we will add your model to the list.

Follow these directions to enable z-mode (ZPL) support.

*REFERENCE: ENTER SYSTEM MODE

  1. Turn off printer (wait until all LEDs are off)

  2. Hold down <FEED> and <PAUSE>

  3. Turn on printer while holding <FEED> and <PAUSE> until "SYSTEM MODE" screen appears

1) FACTORY RESET

  1. Perform steps to ENTER SYSTEM MODE

  2. Scroll down to "RAM CLEAR", press <ENTER>

  3. Scroll to "PARAMETER CLEAR", press <ENTER>

  4. Ensure "QM TYPE" selected, press <ENTER>

  5. Screen will read "COMPLETED. Turn off the printer."

  6. Turn off printer

  7. Hold down <FEED> and <PAUSE>

  8. Turn on printer while holding <FEED> and <PAUSE>

  9. Follow on-screen instructions for your situation (e.g. language, ribbon, calibrate)

  10. Continue to Step 2

2) SET PARAMETERS

  1. If not in "SYSTEM MODE", perform steps to ENTER SYSTEM MODE

  2. Scroll down to "SET PARAMETERS", press <ENTER>

  3. Scroll to "CALIBRATE", press <ENTER>

  4. Choose "ON ALL" and press <ENTER>

  5. Press <MODE> until back at "SYSTEM MODE"

  6. Continue to Step 3

3) TURNING ON Z-MODE

  1. If not in "SYSTEM MODE", perform steps to ENTER SYSTEM MODE

  2. Scroll down to "EMULATION MODE", press <ENTER>

  3. Scroll down to "Z MODE ON", press <ENTER>

  4. Press <MODE> until back at "SYSTEM MODE"

  5. Choose <RESET> and press <ENTER>

4) VERIFY Z-MODE

  1. Printer should startup with "Z MODE V1.1" (or similar) on screen

  2. Pressing <FEED> should feed one label without error

  3. Label LIVE should show "Toshiba B-EX6T1" (or similar) under "USB Thermal Printers"

  4. Label LIVE should print a label

TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. Turn printer off and on

  2. Unplug and replug USB

  3. Ensure latest version of Label LIVE at https://label.live/download

  4. Repeat steps 1 through 4
